Your January benefit is paid at the end of January. A new retiree’s first payment can take a few months while PSERS finalizes the account, and it then includes back payments to the retirement date.

When does PSERS pay retirees?
PSERS pays monthly benefits on the last working day of the month they are for.
Why did my payment not arrive on the date shown?
Direct deposits usually post on the date shown, but some banks release funds a day later. Paper checks are mailed before the payment date and can take several days to arrive. If a payment is more than five business days late, contact the plan.
Does the December payment count for this year or next?
PSERS pays the December benefit on December 31, so it counts as income for the same year.
